Smile, solidarity delivery for local businesses
Smile started in the middle of the pandemic as a home delivery service for vulnerable and isolated populations. We have created a community of supportive neighbours who collect orders from local pharmacies and deliver them to patients within the day. Orders can be made via a call center or our web platform. We now deliver to all the municipalities of Brussels.
Our initial mission was to make access to health care more inclusive and to strengthen neighbourhood cohesion. We were looking to help modernize neighborhood pharmacies to offer a more humane and sustainable alternative to large medical platforms.
But at the end of 2024, we decided to make a strategic pivot and open the Smile service to all local merchants. Our ambition is to launch a real alternative to last-mile delivery platforms and become a key player.
In 2025, we will therefore launch, with the whole team, a new version of the app. Be ready for true innovation:)
Our team is now complete (and this is thanks in particular to MeetMyJob). We are about ten experienced entrepreneurs all involved voluntarily in the project as well as a 1st FTE who is in charge of the sales in the field.
A fundraising campaign is planned for early 2025, subsidies have been supporting us for 2 years and the first customer inflows allow our non-profit organisation a certain financial stability.
We are now looking for a new partner who will be able to take over the lead of the project. This person would take on a COO role at first (or Operation Lead) and then possibly continue the management of Smile on his own.
We are therefore looking for a motivated person, with an entrepreneurial drive and the desire to have a real positive impact on society.

Strengthening relationships and helping vulnerable populations: Maintaining the relationship between the patient and their pharmacist is crucial to ensure continuity of care and mutual trust. We improve patient follow-up by providing regular support and making treatments more accessible and easy to follow. By opening the project to other businesses, we can continue to offer inclusive access to necessities and further strengthen social cohesion in the neighbourhoods.
Digital modernization: We're accelerating the digital transformation of pharmacies (and soon all businesses) to modernize services and improve efficiency. We make the work of nurses and home care professionals easier by providing them with digital tools and efficient logistical support.
A sustainable commitment: Engaging citizens in a meaningful project strengthens social ties and encourages participation.
Cofounder
I am an entrepreneur passionate about technology and innovation for the common good. I have spent a decade developing the impact-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem in Belgium. At the same time, I wanted to create an ambitious project that embodies the ideal model in my view: a social enterprise that primarily seeks a positive impact while ensuring economic viability.
Smile has been a laboratory where we experimented with various models and invested countless hours in R&D to ultimately create a project that makes sense and, I hope, will inspire others in the future. As the founder and CEO of Smile, I am involved in all aspects of the project (product, marketing, sales, finance, legal, HR), with a particular focus on coordinating the team members (volunteers, freelancers, employees, interns).
I have a generalist background and am currently looking to surround myself with experts in their fields who also have an entrepreneurial spirit.
