Nurse for the child psychiatric hospitalization unit: the KaPP (M/F/X)
Job description
We are looking for a nurse for the child psychiatric hospitalization unit: the KaPP.
The KaPP is a hospital unit designed to accommodate 35 children, from 0 to 12 years old, (30 day hospital beds and 5 day/night hospital beds).
The young people welcomed at the KaPP present a wide spectrum of psychopathological disorders, such as attachment disorders, developmental and language delays, anorexia (of the 1st age and preadolescence), psychotic disharmony, anxiety disorders, phobias, ASD, etc. In addition to these difficulties, some are compounded by great agitation and externalized behavioral disorders.
The function of the nurse at the KaPP is dense and diversified. It can be described according to 4 axes:
1. Therapeutic role with the hospitalized child:
You carry out the acts of dispensation of care.
You give educational information to the child and his or her entourage.
You prepare, organize and collaborate on the meal.
You will ensure that the educators organise the children's outings.
You will organise and lead therapeutic activities, in co-intervention.
You accompany the paediatric visit, you assist the paediatrician during the consultation at the kaPP.
You will participate in the weekly clinical team reflection meeting concerning the care, evolution and therapeutic objectives of all patients.
You will participate in the meetings to evaluate the department's nursing care.
2. Relational role with the child's entourage (family, institution, school, attending physician):
You carry out the nurse's anamnesis.
You will play a role of help and support during joint accompaniment with another member of the team.
You help and support parents whose children suffer from severe eating disorders.
You establish and maintain the link with the patient, their relatives, the members of the multidisciplinary team and the other departments of the hospital.
3. Role of interface with other somatic medical practitioners :
The nurse's activities are adapted to the particularities of each clinical situation, in particular the psychosocial context and the therapeutic objective. In this sense, his or her interventions complement those of the rest of the therapeutic team. Its function is fully integrated into the interactive multidisciplinary system of the KaPP.
The nurse ensures night supervision of the children hospitalized in the unit.
4. Role of reception and training for students :
The nurse presents his or her function, transmits know-how and interpersonal skills to students in the context of internships.
Profile
Conditions of engagement:
You are in possession of a nursing diploma: Bachelor's degree in Nursing in General Care or Certificate in Nursing.
You ideally have a specialization in mental health and psychiatry and/or have proven experience in the field of psychiatry.
You have a perfect knowledge of French (B2 level).
You are in possession of a B driving licence.

Specialization in mental health and psychiatry or pediatrics is an asset.
Experience in pediatrics is an asset.
You have a basic knowledge of Dutch and English.
