Logistician in accommodation

Context

We temporarily occupy empty buildings to house people in need or projects of collective interest. These temporarily occupied places become spaces where new ways of living, thinking and organizing the city are experimented with. Acting in transitional urban planning since 2013, our non-profit organisation now facilitates 8 places, houses 150 people and more than 100 associative and social economy projects.

Your logistics missions on the accommodation sites:

For the places Emil, Tritomas & Cailles

In collaboration with the other members of the place teams, your objective will be to create the conditions favorable to a warm collective accommodation, as well as to the development of an organization of the place by the inhabitants themselves.

Logistics (alone) + support for the technical referent: 

Ordering and delivery

• Monitoring of consumable stocks (bedding, office automation)

• Management of the organization of the furniture of the premises

• Furniture recovery via our partner networks

• Assistance in the reflection of the implementation of internal organizational systems

Technical axis (in cooperation with the other Rôle tech'):

Support for the management of residents' developments/moves

• Support for outdoor development projects

• Material transport (and recovery)

Transversal logistics at the non-profit organisation:

There could also be Logistics roles and missions to be taken on at the level of Communa, at the service of the places or the poles. It's to be determined on our side in September!

The person's mission framework may have to evolve according to the experience of the project. In view of the particular context of the implementation of this project, the team's missions could indeed be required to adapt to the reality on the ground and the issues identified. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with a framework under construction and who knows how to adapt.

• Know how to manage logistics needs and the order-delivery cycle.

• Competence in administrative management and ease in the use of digital tools (emails, Excel, Word).

• Knowledge of stock management and inventory updates.

• Ability to create organizational processes, adapt to the reality of the field, know how to be practical.

• Driving licence B (+ experience with commercial vehicle).

• Basic skills in DIY and outdoor space design.

• Ability to be part of a work environment that is qualified as much by urgency as by the experimentation of innovative and alternative approaches to accommodation. Adaptability and responsiveness in unexpected situations.

• Ability to work in a team, communicate well and have good social contact.

• Organization, efficiency, autonomy and rigor in the implementation of its mission framework.

• Previous experience in a similar role and/or in the social field of migration is an advantage.

• Knowledge of the Brussels network in relation to the public in question is an asset.

• General knowledge of Communa's various projects, objectives and philosophy is an asset.

• Knowledge of a foreign language is a considerable asset!
