Teach for Belgium

A meaningful job

Learn more about us

Since its creation in 2013, Teach for Belgium has had a dream: "One day, all pupils will have the same chances of success, regardless of their socio-economic background".

To achieve this goal, the non-profit organisation Teach for Belgium attracts, selects, trains and supports motivated people to become inspiring teachers in the country's most disadvantaged secondary schools. They focus on the subjects for which there is the greatest shortage of teachers: mathematics, science, French and Dutch.

In collaboration with its alumni community and education stakeholders, Teach for Belgium's mission is also to gather and share tools and practices that support the improvement of learning, the development of positive relationships and the strengthening of the resilience of educational teams and students.

Teach for Belgium supports 279 participants and alumni who have an impact on more than 15,000 students each school year.

Like 59 other countries, Teach for Belgium is a member of the Teach for All network, which has put diversity, inclusion and equity at the heart of its values.

The movement, which was launched in 2013, has more and more members who are committed to improving the equity of school systems in Belgium.

The team currently has about twenty highly motivated and passionate people. Every day, they work on the BeCentral digital campus in the heart of Brussels. It's an opportunity to work in a lively organization, in a great atmosphere, and to discover lots of new projects!

Even during the Covid crisis, the team did not give up and continued to recruit and train teachers online, with success!

Joining Teach for Belgium means joining a learning organisation that pays great attention to personal and professional development (on the job but also through training).

Team spirit is also fundamental: they organize many events throughout the year. For example, you will be able to benefit from 3 half-days of team building per year, 2 days of team retreat, as well as regular team lunches and afterworks, a staff party with spouses, online yoga classes...

If you too think that today in Belgium, all students should be able to benefit from a quality education, then the team needs you!

Our commitments to a sustainable world

Joining Teach for Belgium means being part of a dynamic network of people committed to the academic success of all. Their mission: to reduce educational inequities in Belgium, mainly in Brussels and Antwerp.

At Teach for Belgium, we believe that it is unacceptable that a student's success still depends on his or her socio-economic background. That's why every day, they work hard to ensure that all students can benefit from a quality education.

They are convinced that in order to face the challenges of the twenty-first century, it is necessary to invest in the education of future generations and to act together for positive change.

In addition to providing quality instruction in mathematics, French, Dutch, and science, the teachers try to make their students as aware as possible of environmental issues. And of course, a lot of attention is paid to diversity and inclusion.
