About the Founder

Tori & Kodama - Meet My Job

Eloïse Bruyr

Cofounder

🌿 Tori & Kodama – When nature inspires craftsmanship 🌿

I have always been fascinated by nature and its whispers: the song of a chickadee in the early morning, the rustling of leaves in the wind, the discreet flight of a kingfisher at the water's edge. As in the universes of Studio Ghibli, where nature is alive, mysterious and precious (My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke), I want to give a place to the wild, to create a tangible link between humans and biodiversity.

It was this connection that inspired me to create Tori & Kodama.

🌱 A meaningful name
In Japanese, Tori (鳥) means bird. It symbolizes freedom, harmony with nature and echoes the nesting boxes and shelters I design, designed to provide a refuge for birds and wildlife.

Kodama (木霊) refers to the spirits of the trees, silent guardians of the forests, embodying the wisdom and fragile balance of the living. It is also a tribute to the natural materials that I will use gradually, inspired by respect for wood and ecosystems.

With Tori & Kodama, I want to create more than just an object: an invitation to listen to nature, to relearn how to observe it and to marvel at its cycles.

🌳 Innovation & sustainable materials
Initially, I work with 3D printing using materials like PLA and wood PLA, sustainable alternatives adapted to the needs of wildlife. This technology allows me to explore new shapes, to propose designs optimized for the well-being of birds and to reduce raw material waste.

My goal is to evolve towards an approach that is even more rooted in craftsmanship, gradually integrating local species such as larch, oak or locust. These noble woods, from Belgian forests, will enrich my collections in the coming years, bringing even more durability, authenticity and poetry to each creation.

🐝 A meaningful project
Tori & Kodama is much more than a workshop: it is an invitation to relearn how to observe, listen to and respect nature. Each nesting box, each shelter, each feeder is designed to be a bridge between humans and biodiversity.

If, like me, you are passionate about wildlife and want to be part of a project that combines innovation, excellence and positive impact, then let's discuss and move forward together!

✨ Together, let's bring to life a wilder, more beautiful, more poetic world.
