Since 1994, Fost Plus has been helping its member companies to take responsibility by making sorting easier for everyone, everywhere and at any time. Together with industry, they were able to improve the packaging design for optimal recycling and create a local recycling chain. Today, their mission is evolving to ensure that every raw material is part of a sustainable, circular loop. 🌍

🎯 And to do this, these 3 fundamental pillars embody their committed approach:

Organise and finance the selective collection, sorting and recycling of household packaging.
Working with its 5,000 members to sustainably manage packaging by encouraging better packaging designs, facilitating the transition to alternative packaging systems such as reusable packaging, and providing innovative solutions to reduce the presence of packaging in waste.
Work on innovation in the packaging chain (recycling). As a central player interacting with government, citizens, the recycling chain, and industry, they are able to offer advice, knowledge, and solutions that help complete material recycling chains

As the European leader in terms of recycling rates, Fost Plus is committed to transforming waste management into an opportunity for resource recovery , thus contributing to a committed circular economy that is well anchored in our daily lives... while becoming an international reference!

This approach is based on three pillars: prevention (limiting packaging to what is strictly necessary), reuse (moving from single-use to reusable) and recyclability (recovery of raw materials after use). One, two, three and there is durability! ♻️

By investing in local recycling infrastructure, Fost Plus reduces the carbon footprint and stimulates the Belgian economy, creating jobs and fostering innovation. A virtuous circle as we like them!

The teams also collaborate with 36 inter-municipalities across the country to maintain an efficient local recycling chain and improve waste management. A strong player who is well anchored at the local level! 👌

By raising public awareness of sorting and recycling, Fost Plus promotes eco-responsible behaviour, thus strengthening social cohesion around environmental values. From the blue bag to the sorting bins, the planet says thank you! 🌍
