Cause U Can is an impact-driven start-up that supports non-profits in their fundraising efforts and helps companies maintain the health and engagement of their employees. We organize connected sports events, enabling participants to track their outdoor activities using smartphones and wearable devices, while optimizing fundraising outcomes.

Building on the success of felix500.be, we decided to expand our vision. This achievement inspired us to diversify and develop a more comprehensive platform to meet various needs.

Results from this platform:

Funds raised: €175,000 (initial goal: €10,000).
Users: Over 800.
Countries: 9.

This success has also attracted interest from companies and other non-profit organizations, motivating us to extend our concept to assist those facing similar challenges.

Profile

Cause U Can is looking for a développeu.se as an associate.

🌟 About the role:

As a co-founder, you will define the plan and be in charge of the product roadmap, focusing on the technical side of the start-up. You will be required to:

Design features and user journeys to improve the experience for different users.
Create an adaptable system and lead product development, testing, and launch.
Ensure the development of a web application with features such as integration, leaderboards, challenges and community interaction.
Create back-end tools that include automated processes, real-time updates, and a self-service portal for customers.
Coordinate or develop software, ensuring compliance with payments and tax requirements.

🎯 About you:

Experiment: Developer with ideally experience in building adaptable systems or solution architect/product manager.
Team spirit: Expresses ideas easily and enjoys achieving collective goals.

Location : Ideally near Ghent; but teleworking possible with regular videoconference team meetings.

Bonus Points: If you share a passion for sports, you could be "the perfect person"! (But don't worry if they don't, no one is perfect 🙂)

About the Founder

Stefan Maere

Cofounder

I'm Stefan Maere, a father of three wonderful daughters living in Ghent. I founded Cause U Can in October 2023, a startup dedicated to promoting employee wellness and supporting non-profits through connected sports events.

With a background in project management and digital services, I have experience in coordinating mergers, reorganizing teams, and leading significant projects. I'm currently looking for a co-founder to join me on this exciting journey.

I'm passionate about creating engaging experiences that not only promote health but also support meaningful causes. Outside of work, I love cycling, exploring nature, surfing, and spending quality time with my family. My goal is to make a positive impact on employees and communities through my work.
