(on)kruid is committed to restoring biodiversity and nature through regenerative agriculture practices. In response to the alarming decline of insects in Flanders, we have started growing native flowers and herbs, which has brought bees, butterflies and birds back to our farm. This initiative not only supports the environment but also allows us to produce exceptional herbal teas .

In collaboration with tea sommelier Ann Vansteenkiste, we have put together two flowery tea blends that are very popular. Now we want to inspire and support more farmers to adopt these biodiversity-enhancing practices. From farmer to citizen, everyone can help us. By drinking our tea, you are supporting nature and encouraging other farmers to switch to regenerative practices, which has a positive impact on the environment and contributes to a healthier planet for future generations.

Profile

We are looking for a co-founder with a passion for nature, local farmers, regenerative agriculture and sustainability. The ideal candidate is willing to jump into the field, visit herb farms, and inspire our customers by telling our story.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing strategy: Develop and implement a marketing strategy to expand our customer base.
Product development: Developing new flavours and testing products that interest our customers and at the same time discover opportunities to make our production process more sustainable.
Sales strategy and management: Develop sales strategies and objectives, including negotiating contracts and closing deals, while managing sales volunteers and tracking customer satisfaction to maintain strong customer relationships.

About the Founder

Brecht Herteleer

Cofounder

I have a degree in agro-biotechnology plant management and completed a postgraduate program in sustainable development. With six years of experience as a manager in sustainable farming in Flanders, I developed competencies in team leadership and collaboration, as well as sustainable resource management. I also had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Africa, which helped me develop cross-cultural communication skills and gain insights into sustainable practices, enhancing my project management abilities.

Growing up on a farm sparked my love for nature and farming. I spent my childhood exploring the fields, which inspired my dream of making a positive impact on the planet. As the son of a farmer, I understand the challenges that farmers face and want to empower them through sustainable activities that regenerate nature while maintaining productivity.

Now, I’m thrilled to work with two friends as co-founders on a project that blends our passions for nature and tea. If you share our love for tea and commitment to sustainability, I invite you to join us on this exciting journey!
