🏡 Context

The Parenté Foster Home is a home for single-parent families. This is part of the non-profit organisation Les Petits Riens, which also owns the Prévôt men's home in Ixelles and the young men's home @ home 18-24.

The Parenté house is located in the municipality of Anderlecht. The service is approved and subsidised by the COCOF of the Brussels-Capital Region, which offers accommodation, accommodation (individual apartment/studio) and support to the whole family who, as a result of a combination of various factors, are temporarily homeless.

In a crisis situation, the first need is to be able to settle down, rest and get back on your feet. Safe and soothing living conditions for the family will allow them to feel ready to rebuild "an after" and to find permanent housing. The reception house wishes to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the family as well as to its development while it stabilizes.

The multidisciplinary team is made up of specialized educators, social workers, a psychologist, a post-accommodation follow-up manager and the management. The team is dynamic and committed.

 The Parenté reception centre is looking for a Specialized Educator (A1) m/f/x for a full-time permanent contract.

 🌟 Missions

 Under the supervision of the Director of the Maison Parenté and in close collaboration with your colleagues, you will be  responsible for:

  •  Axis 1: The reception, installation and integration of the family upon arrival.

  •  Axis 2: Socio-educational support for all members of the family (children welcomed from birth and without age limits (possibility of childcare for one or more adult children)). Reception specificities: Families of 2 to 6 people, adult parents or minors, reception of pregnant women (from the 3rd month of pregnancy). Parenting support.

  • Axis 3: Follow-up of files in a referral system, social support, support in finding housing

  • Axis 4: Management of daily life within the institution, implementation and supervision of individualized and/or community activities. 

  • Axis 5: Individualized post-accommodation follow-up support for outgoing families in tandem with the member of the team dedicated to this mission.

  • Presence in the house, welcome and support in daily life

  • Conflict 🙏 management

  • Punctual external support

  • Building logistics management

  • Individualized support for each family member, referral system in collaboration with a social worker

  • Guarantee a safe environment and ensure team coherence in actions

  • Follow-up of files

  • Writing specific writings (daily report, external writings) 📝

  • Setting up and supervising individual and/or community activities

  • Project development and implementation

  • Parenting support, fostering the parent-child bond

  • Adapted 🧡 socio-educational support

  • Participation in team and inter-service meetings

  • Communication with network partners

  • Supervision of interns

Profile

  • Diploma required : Bachelor's Degree in Educator A1 🎓

  • Experience required: Experience strongly desired in the homelessness sector and/or in family support and/or in the early childhood and/or youth welfare sector

  • Be familiar with the systems approach

  • Conflict management, stress management and the ability to take a step back

  • Observation and analysis skills

  • Writing and oral communication skills in French 📣

  • Ability to work both in a team and independently

  • Knowledge of another language is an asset

  • Respect for professional 🤫 secrecy

  • Proficiency in the office suite (Word, Excel...)

  • Demonstrate rigor, proactivity, management of the framework, versatility, flexibility and punctuality ⏰

  • 5 days of non-legal non-market leave
