Today, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Brussels team on a permanent contract.
👉 How will you make a difference
As a Legal Counsel Consultant, your main tasks will be the following:
Provide in-house legal advice in various areas of Retail Banking and for the bank's main strategic projects (savings products, investments and payment methods).
Draft and review legal documents and agreements, with a strong interest in (financial) consumer law and market practices.
Seeking a quick and pragmatic solution to a variety of legal issues and problems related to customer identification, inheritance law, banking products....
Provide support in legal disputes in which the bank would be involved, if necessary in collaboration with a lawyer.
Collaborate with colleagues from different departments (Customer Services, Marketing & Communication...).
Monitor new legislation and legislative changes and proactively advise on their impact on the bank's operations.
Opportunity to work on credit law, if necessary, in support of the Business Banking department.
You will report directly to the head of the legal department. The legal team is currently composed of the Head of Legal and 2 Legal Counsels.

You have a university degree in law. 🎓
You have 5 years or more of experience, preferably in banking or finance law in the banking sector or as a lawyer.
You are perfectly bilingual FR / NL, with a good knowledge of English.
You enjoy working independently in a small team.
You are curious, meticulous, structured and pragmatic.
You make quick and correct decisions, sometimes based on incomplete information.
You have an interest in the areas in which Triodos Bank is active.
Possibility of working part-time (80%)
