A Social Worker (m/f/x)
Under a 100% permanent contract, with a start date in March, for his Department of Social Action in the debt mediation service.
Your mission:
The debt mediation service is part of the Department of Social Action and its role is to find a lasting solution to situations of indebtedness/over-indebtedness.
The objective is to repay debts while allowing the over-indebted person and his or her household to lead a life in accordance with human dignity.
What you will do on a daily basis:
Analyze the person's family, financial, legal and social situation
Inform about the social rights for which the person would be eligible or about the existing measures to reduce debt.
Draw up an inventory of debts and verify the legality of the statements
Draw up a budget and propose budget guidance if necessary.
Build, where possible, realistic repayment plans, negotiate them with creditors and ensure their proper implementation ;
When the implementation of amicable plans is not possible or fails, inform about the legal alternatives and support the person in these procedures.
Profile
What we are looking for:
Education :
Hold a bachelor's degree, all specialties accepted, provided that the academic background has a relevant link with the position (e.g. bachelor's degree with a legal, social, sociological, psychological, psychological orientation, in public health, educator,...)
Behavioural skills:
Ability to establish a helping relationship based on partnership, ultimately aiming at the autonomy of the person.
Rigor in the application of the legal and ethical framework.
Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other departments.
Efficient organization of work.
Technical skills:
Knowledge of or interest in legislation related to debt mediation (collective debt settlement, consumer protection, consumer credit, seizures, etc.).
General knowledge of the judicial organization.
Good communication, both oral and written, with various interlocutors.
Assets :
Knowledge of Dutch and Selor language certificate.
Training in debt mediation.
Experience in a debt mediation service.
