
Social Worker for the HABITAT service
Job description
The Public Centre for Social Action of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert is recruiting a Social Worker for the HABITAT service (m/f/x), under a full-time replacement contract at the BH1 scale of the civil service with an entry into office as soon as possible within the Housing service of the Department of Social Action. 🏡
The role of the Habitat Department is to promote access to and retention of applicants for assistance in decent, adapted housing and affordable rents, but also to open up access to social assistance rights in matters relating to housing and energy.
👉 To do this, the social worker will be required to carry out the following tasks:
Examining applications for social assistance in the areas of housing and energy ;
To offer individual, preventive and curative social support for social situations:
Brakes and obstacles in finding and maintaining housing (opening up rights, registering for social housing) 🔎
Preparation of housing entries (reading leases, preparing for a visit, rights and duties of a tenant, etc.)
Social emergency situation in transit housing
Evictions and rent arrears issues (mediation, follow-up of procedures, hearing support, budget guidance)
Tracking people in referral addresses.
Energy payment plans
To provide support and information and instruction services.
Profile
🎓 Conditions of participation in the recruitment :
Hold a diploma in social work;
✨ Behavioural skills:
Vis-à-vis the public : sense of service, listening, ability to frame and confront, calm and assertiveness, ethics, ability to mediate ;
Towards colleagues : team spirit, sense of collaboration, solidarity ;
Vis-à-vis work : involvement, autonomy, initiative and solution-orientedness, rigor, assertiveness, sense of responsibility.
👌 Technical skills:
Knowledge (theoretical, regulatory, etc.): knowledge of legislation related to housing issues, the legislation of the CPAS and the institutional and associative network of the Brussels Region;
Good mastery of intervention methods and creativity of the solutions to be proposed (ability to conduct individual interviews, to mobilize the resources of users, to support them in their efforts and to propose solutions);
Writing skills (reports, minutes, media, etc.);
Proficiency in computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,...).
👀 Assets :
Have proven experience in a CPAS within a housing service;
Have knowledge of Dutch and be in possession of the Selor language certificate, corresponding to your level of function.
