At Tapio, the Senior Carbon Expert works directly with clients, conducting comprehensive carbon assessments, and leading workshops and training sessions. This hands-on role is designed to equip clients with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively manage and reduce their carbon footprint.

What you’ll do in a few words

You will be the intermediary between expertise, operations, and the team in charge of our products to help identify our customers’ main concerns and what might mitigate them. You will dive into the following responsibilities:

  • Provide consultancy advice and training to a variety of clients on climate-related topics;

  • Take ownership of carbon assessments from A to Z, for businesses of various sizes from diverse industries, and provide recommendations to reduce their emissions;

  • Assist clients in setting and achieving Science-Based Targets (SBTi);

  • Work with the product team to refine methodologies and frameworks based on customer feedback;

  • Lead workshops and training sessions for clients;

  • Develop our services by focusing on climate impact (SBTi, LCA, legislation, etc.);

  • Participate in prototype testing and strategic developments;

  • Collaborate with Tapio’s tech and product teams to improve workflow;

  • Understand the challenges faced by clients in defining their company’s climate strategy;

  • Implement and improve our consulting process;

  • Generate ideas on the development of our low-carbon tools.

Profile

We are looking for

Awareness and sensitivity to climate issues, motivation, proactivity, excellence, rigor, ownership, and tech-enthusiast. We are looking for someone eager to learn more, autonomous, and able to take initiative.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a discipline related to sustainable development;

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a consultant or carbon expert or sustainable development manager;

  • A passion for carbon management, climate action and sustainability initiatives;

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch (written and verbal) – French is a plus;

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;

  • Strong communication and organizational skills;

  • A collaborative and proactive approach; willing to work in a learning-by-doing environment;

  • Someone who is curious, competent, and motivated;

  • Good knowledge of international carbon standards and systems (Ademe, GHG scope 3, LCA, SBTi, etc.).
